American Energy = American Jobs
The United States has been held hostage for decades by other oil producing countries who every few years drop their pricing significantly below the then current market prices to wreck the entire world market…

The true victims of this “perfect storm” of foreign oil price wars and the worldwide COVID pandemic are American oil and gas workers, and in particular, independent producers in the Permian Basin.
Read the latest report from UTPB
While we fully realize that United States Gulf Coast refineries operate at their most efficient when they are refining a blend of 65% lighter West Texas Intermediate with 35% heavier foreign produced crudes, it is reasonable to believe that not all imports of foreign crudes (especially Saudi and Canadian) are driven by market demand.

OUR MISSION
The Permian Fuels America Task Force is working to stop this roller coaster ride in oil pricing once and for all by asking our government and American refineries to honor a pledge. This pledge asks domestic refineries:
- To maintain the same or lower percentage of foreign oil imports as their 4th quarter 2019 percentages
- To consider purchasing American crude oil over foreign imports when given the opportunity
- To acknowledge that domestic oil production and its workforce are important to the national security of the United States of America
Our goal is to inform Washington, D.C., and the state of Texas of the tremendous importance of the Permian to the economic health of our state and our nation, and press upon them the need for immediate action to take the important steps that will result in our country’s energy independence from foreign influences. In addition, we will educate the citizens of West Texas and southeastern New Mexico as to the importance of this region on a global scale.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
With your support we can level the playing field in the pricing of oil worldwide
and keep Americans working in the Permian and all across the country.
Sign the Citizen’s Petition found here and let Austin and Washington hear your voice in support of one of our most important industries.
When possible, buy gasoline only from service stations and convenience stores that sell American-produced and refined gasoline.
Write your legislative representatives in Austin and Washington, D.C., and let them know that the time for action is now to save our oil industry in the Permian.

Resources you should know
I support the efforts of the Permian Fuels America Task Force and request that our state and national governments work to help the United States achieve energy independence as soon as possible. We also support any means necessary to have foreign oil imports maintained at same or lower percentage as their 4th quarter 2019 percentages.
The Odessa Development Corporation, located in Odessa, TX, commissioned The Perryman Group to study the impact of the current pricing war on oil and the effects of the COVID pandemic on West Texas and southern New Mexico. Click below to read the full report.

The Permian's Impact on the United States
The impact of Permian Basin production on the US includes not only effects in Texas, but also spillover to other states. The Perryman Group estimates that under normal market conditions as observed in 2019, the total economic benefits to the United States associated with oil and gas activity in the Permian Basin are estimated to include almost $187.2 billion in gross product each year and more than 1.5 million jobs.
